The MXL910 is a low cost transformerless mic with a mass-produced Schoeps style circuit and a small diaphragm capsule. For this rebuild, I have transformerized it using my all discrete BFM board, transformer adapter board and k47 style LDC capsule. This build is using an imported transformer. The mic is low noise, with great gain and a nice bit of transformer mojo sprinkled in. It will sound great on anything but really nice on vocals, guitar and bass cabs and percussion. The mic is de-branded and painted matte red. It is burned in, tested and ready to ship!
This mic comes with no MXL shockmount
