While researching suppliers for the mods and upgrades we do, I found a source for cool microphone bodies that looked interesting. I decided to buy a batch and see what I could build with them. This led us down a long path of design work and custom fabrication but the result is this amazing little mic we call the RS/47. It features the Brass Ring K47 Style Capsule and our standard jaSb circuit (with or without internal pattern switch).
The mic is built into a sleek 44mm body. We sourced a high quality gold plated XLR output connector to make it nice end-to-end. The performance is equivalent to any of the other upgrades we do because we’re using the same parts to build these.
We include a low cost shockmount with the RS/47 (pictured). It works fine, but for a nicer solution, we recommend the Rycote USM shockmounts. If you have any questions about the RS/47 or any of our other builds, please contact me.
